The Charles Tree House - Luxury Riverside Getaway

Excellent views. Rejuvenating stay. Comfort in a tree house. Positive: The views are incredible. The beds are comfortable. The sauna & jacuzzi are rejuvenating. The showers are hot and well pressured. This was great for us as a couple. Oh and did I mention the views?! Negative: Being in nature unfortunately includes dealing with insects. But that's to be expected. Fortunately the host has bug zapper and insect control devices inside the buildings which made them insect-free.

Great potential and carefully thought out but maintenance needs extra thought Positive: Potential to be exceptional. The facilities suit the surroundings and have been carefully thought out. The Sauna and hot tub amazing. Hot tub was huge! We had lots of fun in that. The setting is truly beautiful and this accommodation is nicely suited to a family of 4-6 people. Whilst its set in a secluded rural riverside location amongst animals, the main town is very close to get bits and bobs. Negative: Sadly, cleanliness was a huge let down. Cobwebs everywhere! Couldn't even see out of the river facing window which defeats rhe object of having such a huge clear river faxing glass panel. Sitting out at night was both beautiful but uncomfortable due to midgets and bugs. We got badly bitten and suffered for days. The top bedroom gave my sister and daughter a bit of vertigo as it slants. The place has the potential to be top notch but for the premium you pay you dont get the level of cleanliness that should come with a luxury rent out. Just needs cobwebs sweeping away and a system to control the bugs and midges, mosquitos etc. Expect some in nature yes - but sadly sitting out was full of paranoia. Also the bunk bed - great idea but the space between the two bunks is very short/tight. The boys struggled. It was very hot too and no AC in these rooms

A luxuty treehouse experience Positive: A unique location, making you feel you travelled abroad... The hot weather did help. The interior and exterior design is amazing. You are in the birds world. We spent most of our time at the property, just watching the river and surrounding. Negative: Being so close to nature, means all the outdoor surfaces were covered with trees seeds (which I swept), and spiders are building webs faster than you remove them, catching million of flying insects at night. But, not much you can do about that.

Very memorable and special weekend!! Positive: This is a fantastic place and was the perfect place for a family weekend away for a special occasion. The living spaces and the leisure facilities far exceeded our expectations and we are so glad we found it! The hot tub is incredible - really large and it was great to have the outdoor cinema there too. We loved the fire pit table and also enjoyed the sauna. The hot tub area and fire pit table are covered outdoor spaces with lots of seating and a heater. So, even in February, we were able to enjoy a lot of time outside. A highlight was the view of the river from the main double bedroom - which is separate to the rest of the living space. The bathrooms were both very nice with walk-in showers and lots of hot water. The bed in the main double bedroom was very comfortable and we slept well. Also, this place is so secluded, that it feels like a retreat, even though it is not far to get to main shops. Highly, highly recommend and we hope to be back. Also, it was helpful to have an earlier than usual check in time. Thank you for a great stay! Negative: Just be aware that the main double bedroom with en-suite is a separate building from the kitchen and other bedrooms. This was great for us, but just mentioning it as it is not obvious from the photos and may not suit everyone.
